Summary

I design dense healthcare ops software and ship working prototypes, not slide decks.

I’ve spent 8+ years on multi-tenant plan and provider products. I co-founded Ayin’s AI Accelerator (one of two founding members). We use Figma and code (Claude Code included) to prove GenAI ideas before the org commits. Earlier I stood up the company’s first design practice on a platform used by about 13,000 users managing roughly 1.2M Medicare/Medicaid patients and 8.8M claims.

Recent work: Ayin Iris (claim inquiry and cases, $250K+/year savings), AI Claims adjudication UI with human review, and Ayin Wiki (Bedrock + MCP) with a design system teams can hand to models. US Air Force veteran; Dedicated Crew Chief on fighters.

Skills

GenAI product: Claude Code, AI-assisted prototyping, agentic / HITL workflows, Bedrock, MCP, RAG, design systems for LLM use

Experience

Ayin Health Solutions

Healthcare SaaS for health plans and providers · formerly PHTECH
Principal Product Designer · Mar 2023 – Present · AI Accelerator, founding member
Senior Product Designer · Nov 2017 – Mar 2023

Principal · AI Accelerator

  • Co-founded the AI Accelerator with one other lead: charter, how we prove work (prototype first), and how design shows up in GenAI projects.
  • Design lead on AI Claims: ops UI for an agent pipeline with review queues, confidence, and plan-document grounding. Not a black box.
  • Designed and shipped Ayin Iris (2026): one place for claim questions and cases, PHI scoped by role. Ops savings tracked at $250K+/year; first useful response ~40% faster in sampling.
  • Built Ayin Wiki on Bedrock: people upload messy docs, get a structured wiki; MCP server with Okta so individuals connect their own agents to the same pages. Packaged the Figma system so AI builds start with real product tokens and components.
  • Helped teams ship their own AI tools (report generation, OHA/gov guidance monitoring) with design guidance and hands-on Claude Code coaching.
  • Everyday work with product, eng, and ops on regulated tradeoffs: safe defaults, permissions, human-in-the-loop.

Senior → Principal (selected)

  • Stood up design at PHTECH: research practice, testing, style guide, first atomic design system (grew into today’s Figma system). Led PHTECH → Ayin rebrand and modernizing dense workflows off early-2000s platform UI patterns.
  • Designed call-center notes into CIM after leadership and agent research (notes lived in Word/OneNote during timed calls). Standardized reportable notes, better wrap between calls, strong call-center adoption.
  • Redesigned pre-auth and referral submission with provider offices and plan partners: ~90% fewer submission errors, less plan rework, better auth SLAs.
  • Care management with external SMEs; universal assessments and the admin configuration shell those products sit on.

Product Designer · SIX CRM (CRM BlackBox)

Feb 2016 – Nov 2017 · Portland, OR

  • Multi-tenant B2B CRM and subscription commerce in a small startup team. Design system, prototypes, A/B tests on marketing templates, usability testing.
  • Product sold in a multimillion-dollar acquisition by a direct competitor.

Dedicated Crew Chief · United States Air Force

Apr 2004 – Apr 2010 · Fighters

  • Led crews on mission-critical fighter systems. Safety, reliability, and clear communication when mistakes cost real outcomes.
