Who this covers

This site is the personal portfolio of Travis Rea (“I,” “me,” “Travis”). Contact: travis@travisrea.com, Sisters / Bend area, Oregon, USA.

Information I collect

Depending on how you use the site, I may collect:

• Contact form data — name, email, optional phone number, message content, and whether you chose email or text.
• SMS opt-in data — mobile phone number and your explicit consent when you use “Text Travis,” plus the timestamp and source of opt-in.
• Technical data — approximate IP address, browser type, and request metadata needed to run the site API (rate limiting, security, delivery).
• Analytics data — usage and device signals collected by Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics, as described below.

I do not sell your personal information.

Analytics (Microsoft Clarity & Google Analytics)

This site uses third-party analytics so I can understand how people use the portfolio (which pages are read, where people drop off, technical issues) and improve content and design. These tools load on site pages and may set cookies or use similar technologies.

Microsoft Clarity

• Provider:Microsoft Clarity (project ID mbhpkn9fvd).
• What it does: session analytics such as page views, clicks, scrolls, and heatmaps. Clarity may also record anonymized session replays (mouse movement and scrolling patterns) to help me see usability problems.
• What it may process: device and browser information, pages visited, interaction events, and approximate location derived from IP. Clarity’s own practices apply to data it processes.

Google Analytics (GA4)

• Provider:Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-GTV0WF5BNB).
• What it does: aggregated traffic and engagement metrics (for example sessions, page paths, referrers, and device category).
• IP handling: the site is configured with IP anonymization where supported by the tag setup (anonymize_ip).
• What it may process: device and browser information, pages visited, approximate location, and engagement events. Google’s own practices apply to data it processes.

Analytics is used for site improvement only—not for selling data or running third-party advertising on this portfolio. I do not intentionally send contact form fields (name, email, message) into Clarity or Analytics as custom user identifiers.

How I use information

• To respond to recruiting, collaboration, or other messages you send.
• If you opt into SMS: to send and receive texts about your inquiry (for example follow-ups about a role, scheduling, or next steps). Message types and frequency are described in the Text Messaging Terms.
• To understand site usage and improve the website (including via Clarity and Google Analytics).
• To operate, secure, and improve the contact and chat systems.
• To comply with law and carrier / messaging platform requirements.

SMS / text messaging

Texting is optional. You must actively check a consent box on the “Text Travis” form (it is never pre-checked). Consent is not a condition of browsing the site or emailing me.

Cookies and similar technologies

Clarity and Google Analytics may set first- or third-party cookies, local storage, or similar identifiers so they can recognize browsers across visits and measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect how analytics works (and some site features in general). Browser “Do Not Track” signals are not consistently honored across all tools.

Sharing

I may share data with service providers who process it on my behalf, such as:

• Hosting and APIs (for example AWS for the site contact API and email delivery).
• Messaging providers (for example Twilio) when SMS is enabled.
• Analytics providers: Microsoft (Clarity) and Google (Google Analytics).

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies to deliver their services. I may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Retention

Contact and SMS opt-in records are kept as long as needed to handle your inquiry, maintain consent records for compliance, or as required by law. You can ask me to delete contact records by emailing travis@travisrea.com (subject to legal retention needs). For SMS, reply STOP to end messaging.

Analytics data is retained according to each provider’s retention settings and policies (for example Google Analytics and Clarity project settings). Aggregated or de-identified reports may be kept longer for historical comparison.

Security

I use reasonable technical measures (HTTPS, server-side processing, rate limits) to protect information. No method of transmission is 100% secure.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your choices

• Email me to request access or deletion of contact data where applicable.
• For SMS: reply STOP to unsubscribe; HELP for help.
• Limit analytics cookies via your browser settings, private/incognito browsing, or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on where available.

Changes

I may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when I do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
